Remco began as a family-run business over 68 years ago when 15-year-old Jerry Cohen started helping his father with his deliveries. In 1977, Jerry recognized a need in the garment delivery business and started All Type Transport, his own trucking company. With only two trucks, All Type started out delivering garments on hangers to local retailers in the Montreal area.
In the early 1980s, a business request from a customer led Jerry to lease a 3000 sq. ft. storage facility and open The Fashion Distributors. This investment filled a need in the market and led Jerry to offer warehousing solutions to all of his customers. Soon after, Jerry expanded his business into Toronto through the acquisition of Remco Forwarding Limited. This became the foundation of a strong service solution for Jerry’s customers in both Ontario and Quebec.
Over the years Remco has built close relationships with our customers, helping them to expand their reach throughout Canada and the United States. For our whole-solution customers, the seamless integration of our transport and warehousing services offers them peace of mind and a one-stop-shop experience for their logistics needs. Customers that engage us separately for warehousing and transport benefit from our world-class service, expertise, and experience.
Remco’s roots in the garments on hangers shipping industry have cultivated our expertise in clean freight logistics and helped us develop the necessary skills and knowledge to expand our services to the many other industries we currently serve.
